Capacity Camps

SIF leads a range of different types of Capacity Camps, which are condensed versions of its Social Innovator Accelerator. In 2016 SIF piloted a version featuring nonprofits working in the field of environmental sustainability. In 2018 SIF hosted three Capacity Camps: one focused on immigrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers with a pitch contest; one on workforce development organizations and building their leadership capacity through coaching; and one focused on healthy living with quarterly trainings and team building. Each program was tailor-designed by SIF with both the organization’s and the funder’s interests.

Participants of our 2021 New Bedford Capacity Camp are currently engaged in efforts to increase the visibility of their organizations' work and in expanding capacity to deepen and scale their programming. They are gaining practical knowledge on current topics that affect the nonprofit sector, growing their leadership skills through personal and professional development, receiving one-on-one coaching with a professional executive coach, and raising the visibility of their work in front of new funders and potential supporters.
