1 | Break a sweat with InnerCity Weightlifting, 2012 Innovator
Harbor Fitness Series

Monday, July 30 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm | Atlantic Wharf, 290 Congress Street, Boston MA

In addition to their Moves on the Roof Fitness Series, InnerCity Weightlifting is collaborating with Atlantic Wharf to hold a free, outdoor fitness series on the Waterfront Plaza. Come condition and strengthen your body, no matter your fitness ability or experience! InnerCity Weightlifting is conquering violence on the Boston streets by giving troubled youth the opportunity to become personal trainers.

This event is free and will continue to run every Monday through August 27. Registration is required here.

2 | Rock out with Mystic River Watershed Association, 2015 Innovator
Riverstock: The Whales Benefit Concert

Friday, August 3 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm | Thunder Road Music Club & Rock n' Roll Bistro, 379 Somerville Ave, Somerville MA

If you like music and food this is the event for you! Mystic River Watershed Association is hosting a benefit concert featuring the very talented band, The Whales. The concert is a 21 + event and will be held at one of Boston's rising live music clubs, Thunder Road. The Mystic River Watershed Association has worked diligently to restore and protect the Mystic River through the fostering of education. 

Tickets can be purchased here for $7 on a first come first serve basis.

3 | Flip some pancakes with ZUMIX, 2006 Innovator
Community Potluck Dinner

Friday, August 3 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm | ZUMIX Firehouse, 260 Sumner Street East, Boston MA

ZUMIX is hosting a potluck dinner and this week's theme is Breakfast for Dinner! Bring a dish and instrument to join your community for great eats and music with a special showcase by City to City and Advanced Beatmakers. ZUMIX is an East Boston-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building community through music and creative technology.

This event is open to the public. Community Potluck Dinners at ZUMIX will continue every Friday through August 3, and Thursday August 16.

4 | Tap into your artistic side with GreenRoots, 2018 Innovator
Chelsea Walk Community Painting

Friday, August 3 & Saturday, August 4 11:00 am - 4:00 pm | Chelsea Walk, 416 Broadway Street, Chelsea MA

The Chelsea Walk is in need of some renovating. Come help paint and boost the space with GreenRoots and artist Silvia López Chavez! GreenRoots works to achieve environmental justice and greater quality of life through collective action, unity, education, and youth leadrship acroos neighborhoods and communities.

5 | Heat up the grill with Fathers' Uplift, 2018 Innovator
This Dad Cares: Fatherhood Grill Off

Saturday, August 4 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm | 12 Southern Ave, Dorchester MA

Fathers' Uplift is hosting a cookout to celebrate fathers in the Boston community! Whip out your apron and compete against other fathers in a cook-off. There will be games, crafts, and prizes so be sure to bring the whole family. Arrive early at 10:00 am for an Appreciation Ceremony. Fathers' Uplift is a nonprofit working to empower fathers and give them the support needed to partake in their children's lives no matter the obstacles they are facing.

Free Fun Fridays! with Highland Street Foundation, SIF Funding Partner

Every summer, the Highlight Street Foundation teams up with Massachusetts’s most popular cultural sites to open their doors for free to the public to maximize opportunity. All are welcome! Here are the sites participating on August 3 (*New sites every week*).
