Education
BA in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies and Minor in Philosophy, Syracuse University

Sakura (she/her/hers) joined the SIF team in October 2023 as the Finance and Operations Manager. In this role, she supports the Chief Operating Officer in strengthening the organization’s infrastructure and developing streamlined back-office processes that support the growing work of the programmatic and fundraising teams.

Prior to Social Innovation Forum, Sakura was the Assistant Director at Boston Explorers, an out-of-school program for underserved children that focused on experiential and hands-on learning, play, and exposing children to all the natural and historical resources that Boston has to offer. There, she played a part in all aspects of the organization, from data management, program, and service delivery, and built relationships with all constituents.

Sakura also brings administrative and operational experience at other Boston-based organizations, and volunteers at various other nonprofits in Boston that are focused on youth development and teaching. Sakura is passionate about social impact work through a racial equity lens, and is excited to support the SIF team with streamlining and refining internal systems.
