1 | Enjoy live music with ZUMIX, Inc., 2006 Innovator
Summer Concert Series - Latin Logic

Sunday July 8, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm | Piers Park

Bring your family and friends to Piers Park in East Boston to listen to live entertainment, featuring Latin Logic! Lay out a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy music and great weather. The ZUMIX Summer Concert Series is open to the public of all ages and free of charge. ZUMIX, Inc. is an East Boston-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building community through music and creative technology. 

The ZUMIX Summer Concert Series will continue every Sunday from July 8 - August 26 (except August 19).

2 | Hear about the effects of climate change with Mystic River Watershed Association, 2015 Innovator
Speaker Series & Commitee Meeting

Tuesday July 10, 7:00 pm - 8:00, pm Speaker 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm Committee Meeting | Mystic River Watershed Association, 20 Academy Street, Ste 306, Arlington MA

Joing the Mystic River Watershed Association to hear Julia Wormer, previous Boston Harbor Association executive director, to discuss the effects of climate change on the city of Boston. She will discuss the impact of coastal flooding, and Boston's projected climates. Following Julie Wormer, there will be a committee meeting to discuss policy and outreach in support of the Mystic River. The Mystic River Watershed Association has worked diligently to restore and protect the Mystic River through the fostering of education.

Both Mystic River Watershed Association's Guest Speaker and Committee Meeting are free and open to the public.

3 | Get active with InnerCity Weightlifting, 2012 Innovator
Moves on the Roof - Free Fitness Series

Tuesday July 10, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm | Kendall Center, 90 Broadway, Cambridge MA

Innercity Weightlifting has teamed up with Health Yoga Life to hold fitness classes on the Kendall Square Roof Garden. Condition and strengthen your body along-side your community with a workout adjustable to your fitness ability. InnerCity Weightlifting reduces youth violence by connecting proven-risk young people with new networks and opportunites, including meaningful career tracks in and beyond personal fitness. They use the gym to replace segregation and isolation with economic mobility and social inclusion, disrupting the system that leads to urban street violence.

Registration is free and required here. The Free Fitness Series will continue every Tuesday through September 25.

4 | Delve into self-care with Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, 2016 Innovator
Wholistic Healing Workshop Series

Wednesday July 11, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm | Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, 15 Christopher Street, Dorchester MA

Take some time to participate in a workshop about the art of wholistic health and learn how to care for your whole self: mind and body. Learn about the importance of self-care, the capabilities of art and music therapy, and how to make remedies yourself at home. Dinner will also be served at 5:30 pm. The Louis D. Brown Peace Institute strives to provide healing and peace to those impacted by trauma through special programming that supports any and all circumstances.

The Wholistic Healing Workshop Series will continue on August 8 and September 12. Registration is required at janice@lbdpeaceinstitute.org or 617-825-1917.
