Robson Govine is currently a Social Impact MBA candidate at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. They are excited to be working as an intern with SIF in their last semester, and hope to not only learn and grow in this role, but also use past experiences and learnings to contribute to the strength of the organization.
Prior to attending the Heller School, they were the Director of Operations at The Boston Alliance of LGBTQ+ Youth (BAGLY). In their role with BAGLY, Robson managed the financial matters, state contracts, and the day-to-day operations of BAGLY's Youth Community Center. As part of BAGLY's senior leadership team, Robson assisted in securing funding and implementing programming geared towards providing culturally competent and accessible sexual and mental health services specifically for LGBTQ+ youth.
A Connecticut native, Robson has been a resident of Boston since 2010, originally relocating to serve as an AmeriCorps service member. They hold a Bachelor's degree in English from Central Connecticut State University, and a certificate in Non-Profit Management through the Institute of Non-Profit Practice and Tufts University. Their professional and volunteer experiences have yielded years of learning within the non-profit sector from programmatic, development, operational standpoints.
Outside of work, Robson is an avid lover of all things active – from fitness to hiking to playing in local rec sports leagues. Along with being active, Robson is constantly trying to satisfy their curiosity and need for new experiences through travel, reading, and trying as many tasty foods as possible.
