Candidate for BA in Communication Studies and Theatre, Northeastern University (Expected Graduation May, 2023)

Julia (she/her/hers) joined the Social Innovation Forum (SIF) in January 2022. In her role as the Communications and Events Co-op, she works closely with the Senior Communications and Brand Coordinator and the Director of Community Mobilization to drive the organization’s strategic communications strategy. Julia will assist with event planning, social media management, writing, and web content development for both Communications and Funder Education initiatives.

Julia is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Theatre, while minoring in Performing Arts Administration at Northeastern University in Boston. She is currently the Artistic Director of the Spotlight Summer Theater Workshop. There, she is responsible for all artistic decisions: is the main point of contact for all show-related inquiries, supervises the staff, casts the productions, stages scenes, instructs children and teenagers, plans daily schedules, and manages social media. Julia enjoys singing and is the Business Manager; Treasurer; Choreographer, and Bass for one of Northeastern University’s A Cappella groups, ‘Pitch, Please!’.

In prior years, Julia served as a Mentor for The Grrrls Group with Willsey Connections, where she helped teenage girls navigate personal, academic, and relational struggles. There, she also led guided meditations and other activities related to self-awareness. Additionally, she has been involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life events for eight years as a Team Captain and All-star Fundraiser, and has also served on the Event Leadership Team as the Entertainment Chair. Julia is passionate about SIF’s mission of creating positive social change and looks forward to supporting and strengthening the organization's communications efforts.
