Education
Candidate for BS in Public Policy (Potential Emphasis in either Law or Non-Profit, Philanthropy, and Social Innovation), University of Southern California (Expected Graduation: May 2025)

Deborah (she/her/hers) joined the Social Innovation Forum (SIF) in May 2022 as a Program Intern. In this role, Deborah works closely with the Program Team to support the recruitment of 150+ nonprofit organizations for the Social Innovation Accelerator program. Many of her responsibilities include market scanning for local non-profit organizations, conducting outreach to non-profit leaders, and evaluating applications for the Accelerator program.

Deborah is a rising sophomore at the University of Southern California, pursuing a degree in Public Policy. She is deciding between two emphases for her Public Policy degree: Law or Non-Profit, Philanthropy, and Social Innovation. As a first-generation student, Deborah aspires to give back to her community and ones similar to hers, and give young people of color the ability to access the same opportunities she had granted to her. Deborah is passionate about many social justice issues, such as equal access to health care and education. She hopes to use her degree to dismantle policies that hinder the Black community. Deborah has worked at ABCD for two summers as a Camp Counselor and used her role there to help the young campers get on track with their school work, and expose them to different parts of Boston. At SIF, Deborah hopes to get familiar with the non-profit sector, build strong relationships, and work on professional development skills.
