Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer is a member of the Social Innovator Support Team that is tasked with preparing the Innovator for the May 5 Showcase Event. (Please see the attached exhibit, "2008 Innovator Support Team Roles.") In this capacity, the Graphic Designer works with the team for four months, helping to design and develop a PowerPoint presentation; thus, PowerPoint skills are required in addition to design skills. The Graphic Designer assists this process by:

  • Creating a PowerPoint presentation template, including choosing colors, graphic themes and fonts.

  • Assisting the team to resolve graphic design issues as requested. Such assistance may include creating a particular type of chart; giving advice on aesthetic issues; and/or embedding a short video clip into the PowerPoint presentation.

  • Refining and adjusting the PowerPoint prior to two key presentations: the Panel Presentation in early April, which is a rehearsal session for the Innovator prior to the Showcase Event, and the May 5 Showcase Event itself.

While the actual time required will vary by project team, we expect that the overall commitment will not exceed 20 hours. Initial team meetings, which the Graphic Designer is asked to attend, will take place in early January; and the Showcase Event will take place on May 5. We hope that Graphic Designers will attend the Showcase to see their Innovator present the work.
